About the Game

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Souls and Goals Soccer Cup match had been held annually since 2013 to coincide with National Vocations Awareness Week. Taking place now during the warmer weather of early autumn, the match continues the traditional matchup of the seminarians of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary versus clergy of the Archdiocese (along with a number of lay “company”). In 2021 the fraternal rivalry will be reignited on the field at Chaminade College Preparatory School on September 30th.

This is a free event and open to all. Light concessions will be available. Particular COVID safety policies for the event will be determined depending on local health guidance as the event draws closer.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. The game will be held in Chaminade’s main stadium on the west end of the campus.

Pope Francis said of the game, "It will really be a bit difficult for me to root, but luckily it's a friendly match!" *
